RE: msn virus There isn't really any way to get back Hotmail contacts after deleting them as far as I know. You could go through your inbox/sent email and add contacts that have been deleted. I think it's more likely someone has found out your password and decided to mess everything up. What virus blocks and deletes your contacts? None that I know of. How did you get it in the first place? If you don't remember downloading anything dodgy then your virus scanner is probably right, you don't have a virus. Change your password on a different computer, in case you have a keylogger. Also change your secret question and answer, in case someone knows it. Things like this happening is just down to common sense and you learn from your mistakes. Just make sure you don't download anything dodgy (especially over Messenger). What anti-virus are you using? Try AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition or Avast Home Edition. Also do a full scan with an anti-spyware such as Ad-Aware 2008 or Spybot - Search & Destroy. Good luck. Post if you need any more help.

I know i deffinatly didnt download anything from hotmail which could cause this because i rarely bother opening my e-mails before i delete them. My friend suggested it might be just a worm which is why it sent out all the e-mails then dissapeared. My anti virus still doesnt pick anything up on any scans and so far ive had no more e-mails sent out. I cant find any virus on my computer and ive re-formatted. Yet my msn account is still the same. I stilll have people missing from my msn who wernt on my hotmail so i cant get their e-mail addresses. The problem started after the spam e-mails got sent out from my account. I went onto hotmail after signing out of msn, and changed my password. Then signed back into msn with the new password and my contacts blocked and deleted themselves without me toutching it. A few of my contacts remained untoutched. If this is a seperate problem to the virus e-mails can someone please let me know and what possible solution there is to it and if it could happen again. Ive since changed my password in the same way again with no problems whatsoever. Yet some of my msn contacts are still missing. If your AV wasn't fully up to date, it could have slipped detection.
